    Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the creditability and desirability of GIS in corporations and businesses today. GIS is very expensive to buy and maintain, so why would a business want to invest thousands of dollars in GIS technology? The answer is that GIS allows us to plan for the future, analyze data, see data, and come up with a solution faster than ever since it is now a computer based application. Through information found from the ESRI web site, text books, personal knowledge gained from experience, interviews from colleagues and other sources, I will discuss GIS and why it has become such a sought after asset in businesses today.
