Lead Contamination in Soils Near Mines in Southeastern Missouri
MetadataShow full item record
Lead mining is very important in today’s society, and is used for a lot of everyday products. The most common products are batteries, cable covering, ammunition, and shielding radiation. Over the years, lead mining has gone through transformations in order to make the environment a safer place. During this paper, I will be focusing on the effects of mining, starting in 2000 and ending in 2015. The effects occur in the environment in the soil, freshwater, and also have an effect on forest biodiversity as well. The changes in these areas have been positive, in part, due to regulations that influence the amount of contaminants in each of these areas.
