    Abstract
Asteroid 9983 was classified using BVR broad-band photometry. Observations were performed with the 0.9-meter WIYN telescope at Kitt Peak Observatory, the S2KB camera, and timed to occur at opposition. These observations were conducted in parallel with observations being made at Phillips Academy and in Danbury, NH to determine a rotational light curve. 9983 Rickfienberg yielded the results B-V=0.971 and V-R=0.668. Future observations of asteroid 9983 should include use of narrower filters for additional spectral information.
