The Relationship of Coach Leadership Behaviors and Athlete Sport-Confidence

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the Leadership Scale for Sport (LSS) discrepancy score with the level of trait sport-confidence the athlete exhibits. Using the LSS designed by Chelladurai and Saleh in 1980 and the Sport Confidence scale developed by Robin Vealey in 1986, 107 male athletes from Carthage College were surveyed. The results of the analysis determined that there was no significant relationship (p < .05) between the amount ofLSS discrepancy and the level of athlete trait sport-confidence.
