The Effects of SAFMEDS on Spelling
MetadataShow full item record
The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of fluency on spelling accuracy. Research questions asked in this study included how will fluency affect fourth grade students' spelling accuracy and how will an increase in fluency affect spelling accuracy in fourth grade students' writing samples? A multiple baseline design was used in the study. Subjects built fluency by using SAFMEDS of targeted spelling words. Data were collected on each student's fluency performance and accuracy on targeted words in sentences. Each student graphed his or her own performance on both tasks. An increase in fluency coincided with an increase in spelling accuracy in both isolation and in context.
