dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Greek and Latin word part instruction on the acquisition of science vocabulary. Twelve sixth grade students were divided into three groups. After establishing a baseline, some of the groups were given instruction in the Greek and Latin word parts contained in the science vocabulary of an upcoming unit. The students who received instruction in the Greek and Latin word parts contained in the vocabulary scored higher than those who received no instruction.en_US
