The Effects of Team Training on Developing a Sense of Belonging for Middle Level At-Risk Students

This study was an investigation of the effects of team training on developing a sense of belonging for middle level at-risk students. A total of21 at-risk seventh grade students were given a pretest then were involved in ten weeks of Team Training and then were given a posttest. Team Training consists of four components: 1) The Circle of Courage (Bendtro, 1990), 2) Activities That Teach (Jackson, 1993), 3) Discussions and Journal Writing, 4) Study Center. Students showed a significant difference (t = 2.88) between the pretest and the posttest scores.
