This study was designed to measure the effect of audio books written by Dr. Bob Rotella on the mental toughness in the game of golf. The books used in this study were; Golf is not a Game of Perfect, Golf is a Game of Confidence, Putting out of Your Mind, and The Golf of Your Dreams. The individuals used in the study are from two NCAA Division III Women's Golf teams in the Midwest ranging from players with six handicaps to 25 handicaps. The individuals were given a pre and post questionnaire called the Test of Performance Strategies (TOPS) at the start and at the end of a period of six weeks where they listened to the audio books by Dr. Rotella. This questionnaire measured aspects of mental toughness during practice and during competition matches. There were two NCAA Division III Women Golf teams tested. One team served as the control group and the other team, who was exposed to the treatment, was the experimental group. The treated team is the only group that listened to the audio books during conditioning and practice. The auditory literature treatment was given to the individuals at the beginning of the six week program and once again midway through the program. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect audio book literature has on female golfer's mental toughness/ confidence. All the subjects in this study had little to no experience with mental toughness training and how to incorporate it into their golf games. The results of the study indicate that the treated group showed a change in confidence at a level of significant better than .05 during the six week program while the control group showed little change.
