    Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the relevance and significance of key college admission measures on predicting college success and student retention rates. The key college admission measures that were analyzed included: high school academic achievement and college admission standardized test scores. When analyzing the data from a Midwest Liberal Arts College in this research study, a multiple regression test was utilized to analyze, examine, and evaluate the data collected for this study. The sample consisted of 543 students from the incoming 2017 freshmen class of a Midwest college. When analyzing the collected data, this study found very slight differences between college admission measures and both student retention rate and college success rate. The researcher found that high school academic achievement and college admission standardized test scores were both statistically significant in predicting student retention rates. Therefore, if a college admissions office accurately evaluates and selects a prospective student based off their high school academic achievement and college admission standardized test score, they should be more accurate in predicting a student’s retention rate.
