    Abstract
The purpose of this study is to give a guide for instructors to follow to teach the culture imbedded in literary texts. This guide provides instructors with ideas and techniques for teaching the culture, particularly that of the African and Caribbean, through the analysis of various different novels and articles. This study starts by an overview of studies approving the use of a nontraditional, more interactive type of teaching to approach the different cultures, and then it goes to provide a literary course design to teach that culture in a none lecture way.
