MetadataShow full item record
This research study examined police cynicism, cynicism regarding the perception of emale deputies in policing, and job satisfaction among the three lengths of police service categories. The researcher sampled male and female deputies from a Southern Wisconsin Police Department and assessed their police cynicism scores, cynicism scores regarding perception of female deputies in policing, and job satisfaction scores. The literature review and the researcher's results supported the claim that police cynicism scores, cynicism scores regarding female deputies in policing, and job satisfaction scores were affected by the length of police service. Limitations of this research study included: lack of a larger sample size from female deputies which could have affected police cynicism scores and more importantly cynicism scores regarding female deputies in policing. Other limitations included not identifying personality types and investigating if this has an effect on police cynicism scores.
