The Impact of a Current Events Project in a Foreign Language Classroom

Abstract

This study investigates the contribution of a current events project to the teaching of culture in a beginner foreign language classroom. The current events project consists of reading articles and watching videos about German cultural topics as homework assignments with subsequent discussions in class. The mixed method study is comprised of students' questionnaires and selected questions about the articles and videos.
