Using Songs in the English as a Foreign Language Classroom
Abstract
This project suggests the incorporation of American popular songs into the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) curriculum in Colombian high schools. Songs are taken as the introductory context in which the new material to be taught can be found. Three lesson plans for three different language levels show how to develop communicative and linguistic skills among the students. General activities to present and toreview the content of songs are also presented.
