The Analysis of Ninth Grade Physical Science Textbooks of Determine the Presence of Considerate Text Factors

Within this study a textbook assessment instrument was used to rate the elements and factors of text considerateness of three physical science textbooks. Three evaluators rated the textbooks using thirty criteria containing the considerate elements and factors of structure, coherence and audience appropriateness. Sectional and total rating comparisons were made. It was found that the three physical science textbooks were rated as either considerate or as fairly considerate. It was concluded that the administering of a textbook assessment instrument containing criteria referring to the elements and factors of considerate text does identify and measure text considerateness.
