    Abstract
The purpose of this paper Is to Investigate possibilities for a more effective parent/teacher relationship. It will examine the history of parent/teacher relationships and explore the role played by teachers ln developing stronger communication skills with parents. Teachers need to strengthen communication with parents to develop schools that have more parent Involvement and a partnership that will ensure the education of children. Schools and families need to be partners with a common goal: the education of children. Teachers need to become leaders in the development of better communication between home and school to reach that goal.
