    Abstract
Multicultural education has become one of the most important issues in education within the United States. In this study, an approach to integrate multicultural education into the teaching of legends and myths was developed. The strategies suggested in chapter four follow the communicative approach. Multicultural education and the communicative approach complement each other, and together provide educators with an effective method to have students interact and communicate among themselves in order to enrich their individuality and respect for others.
