    Abstract
Fifty-six foreign language instructors at the university level in Bogota, Columbia (South America) were surveyed to establish the uses they make of multimedia components. Issues regarding the frequency of use for each medium (audio, video, and computer), purposes of usage, kinds of materials used, equipment available to instructors, and material providers were addressed. A closer look at instructors' opinions on the suitability of computers in specific areas of study was given to determine the actual use and probabilities of implementation of multimedia programs in foreign language instruction at the university level.
