A Music Senior Thesis in Vocal Performance: Statues and Stories, A Senior Recital Presented by London A. Roysden
Subjects
Voice, performance, recitalAbstract
As the culminating project for the last three and a half years of vocal study, I will present my senior recital on Saturday, November 13th. This recital will feature works by major composers that represent multiple languages and styles, such as Mozart, Schubert, and Debussy, who have all been a crucial part of my studies. The latter portion of my recital will center around 21st century compositions, including an original song cycle by Katiann Nelson with texts by Emily Dickinson. This offering of soprano “staples” in combination with these newer works will demonstrate my abilities to learn, interpret, and perform a multitude of styles of art song and opera.
