4cr This course will provide students with a sociological analysis of major urban social problems like poverty, racial segregation, crime, and educational inequality. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the nature and extent of particular urban social problems, their origins, and potential solutions. We will examine urban social problems through both texts and film.
