Small Nuclear Modular Reactors in Oregon: Suitability Analysis and Site Selection
Show FileMIME type:application/pdfFile Size:1.2 Mb
Small modular reactors are a newer development in nuclear energy. Small modular reactors are smaller and safer than previous types of nuclear energy. In 2017, Oregon proposed the use of these reactors to replace their use of fossil fuels. The purpose of this study is to analyze small modular reactors and provide possible nuclear plant locations in Oregon based off hazards, populations, protected lands, and more. The final output of this study are maps that show what counties and tracts in Oregon could possibly have a small modular reactor.
