The purpose of this paper is to determine whether or not wildfires in the state of Florida in 1998 had a great effect on tourism in the State ofFlorida. I hypothesize that there will be a major effect on tourism from the fires. This paper will show how and if there has been an impact on tourism in Florida due to wildfires that occur each year. Data from 1995 to 2000 will be analyzed. I willlook at the number of fires and the number of acres burned each year. The number of tourists and the tourism/recreation taxable sales figures will analyzed
