Senior thesis written partially in English and Partially in Japanese by Caitlin Marotte called "Japanese Freeters: The Changing Attitudes of Youth"en
In this paper, I look at the various Japanese viewpoints and opinions concerning "Freeters;" atypical workers in Japanese society. My research consists mostly of firsthand accounts and opinions, gathered through interviews, blogs, and surveys, all from the perspective of both freeters and non-freeers. I also consider to what extent the "Westernization" of Japan has influenced this phenomenon and the overall implications of the changing views of Japanese youth.en
